Do you have the passion to be a leader in your community on global issues?Do you want to inspire others to take action and join the movement to end extreme poverty within a generation? If so, apply now or nominate a friend to become a Global Poverty Ambassador! Since the beginning of 2010, we have been taking the story of progress to schools, conferences, communities and universities around the UK. It's an inspiring story and from September 2011 we want to equip you to take it out to your community. That's why we've partnered with The Co-operative Membership to identify the first Global Poverty Ambassadors. This programme will recruit and train individuals like you to become leaders within your community – to tell the story of success and raise awareness of the reality of extreme poverty through delivering a series of 1.4 Billion Reasons presentations and actions. We are looking for people who enjoy public speaking and are keen to spread the news about ending extreme poverty in a way that others can understand, through engaging real-life stories and positive examples of change. Apply now or nominate a leader in your community to become a Global Poverty Ambassador!
1.4 Billion Reasons shares the story of how each of us can play a role to end extreme poverty. From Guernsey to Aberdeen, 33,000 people across the UK have seen it so far. Over the next year we will reach another 100,000 people face to face with this message, and we would love you to join us. If you want to be part of this movement, add your name on the top right and we'll email you an application form for you to complete by Sunday the 11th of September. This programme will commence in specific areas of the UK from September 2011 and will be launched nationally from January 2012.
