If so your country needs you!

So apply now to become a Global Poverty Ambassador!

Since the beginning of 2010, we have been taking the story of progress to schools, conferences, communities and universities around the UK. It's an inspiring story and 2012, the UN designated International Year of Co-operatives, we want to equip you to take it out to your community.

That's why we've partnered with The Co-operative to identify, train and mobilise UK Global Poverty Ambassadors across the UK in 2012.

The Co-operative is doing more than ever to help tackle global poverty, through co-operative support, ethical trade, ethical finance and campaigning. Already their work has benefited millions of people across the developing world. The Co-operative believes that together, their members can help ensure lasting change. The Global Poverty Ambassador programme will recruit and train individuals like you to become leaders within your community - to tell the story of success and raise awareness of the reality of extreme poverty through delivering a series of 1.4 Billion Reasons presentations and campaigning actions.

We are looking for people who enjoy public speaking and are keen to spread the news about ending extreme poverty in a way that others can understand, through engaging real-life stories and positive examples of change.

As an ambassador you will be provided with high level training and exclusive opportunities to engage with some of the world's most prominent leaders in the fight against extreme poverty. What we require from you is a 12-month commitment of about 10 hours a month in leading communities in the fight against extreme poverty all of course will be supported by the team at the Global Poverty Project and The Co-operative.

If you complete an application before Jan 15th you can get a unique opportunity to meet Bill Gates in London on 25 January 2012 and discuss your vision of a world without extreme poverty.
