This is a poem which deals with how we all choose to focus our lives.... how do we use the privileges we often take for granted?
We are the privileged few.
we do not starve for food,
our beds are warm and our shelters are strong.
We learn, we choose, we over eat
and we awake with the gift of freedom of speech.
Out in the world lies a billion sons who rise and set to the sound of guns,
like us they fight and sometimes they cry
but we live and we learn and like them we will die...
So when our privileged end draws near
will you feel tears or will you hear cheers
Will you go out like the day you came in
And know that you changed the world you lived in?
